We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join our friendly pharmacy team within physical health wards in the community and mental health inpatient services. Supported by our Advanced Clinical Pharmacists, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day high-quality patient focused clinical pharmacy services on our older people's physical health rehabilitation wards and our mental health wards. In all areas you will be supported by our dedicated and experienced specialist pharmacy technicians.

The post holder will be based at City Care Centre, North Camb Hospital (Wisbech), the Cavell Centre Pharmacy department, Peterborough and may be required to support the other physical health wards within the Trust if required. Therefore, the ability to work flexibly and travel between sites is helpful.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in the care of older people and mental health services but would consider those who would like to make a move into this specialty and would support you in your development and transition to this role, as well as supporting you to achieve further qualifications, including prescribing.

CPFT values its staff and makes investment in their well-being and development a priority. This is a full-time post, and we are looking to recruit two pharmacists, but if you are interested in the position and are looking for a more flexible working arrangement, please speak to us.

Main duties of the job

The person we are looking for is someone that can positively contribute to the clinical medicines management of older people. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of passionate and dedicated healthcare professionals to support safe and effective prescribing and use of medicines, and medicines optimisation, supporting patients and carers and promoting independence with medicines.

The post holder will be expected to provide medicines information and advice on all aspects of medicines management to medical, nursing, and other staff on these wards, support the pharmacy technicians and contribute to local education of ward staff.

The post holder will also contribute to clinical audit and assurance monitoring in both ward and community inpatient settings, suggesting quality improvements and participating in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines when required.
