We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist with proven clinical skills and knowledge in accessing and providing interventions for patients who present with complex Mental Health needs, which prevent them from accessing mainstream Physiotherapy services.

The post involves working in Mental Health services for Working age Adults and Older people across Hull and East Riding, both in community and inpatient settings.

You will be expected to provide specialist physiotherapy to patients with multi-pathologies and complex and challenging needs.

You will work alongside members of the Multidisciplinary team to deliver Physiotherapy services. In addition, you will provide support for the clinical supervision of support staff and student Physiotherapists. You will be expected to support your Team Leader in service monitoring and development.

Main duties of the job

To provide Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients who are unable to access mainstream Physiotherapy, due to their complex mental health.

The delivery of care will involve seeing patients within Mental Health Inpatient units and to seeing patients in their own homes within the community.The post involves travelling within Hull and East Yorkshire boundaries; therefore, post holder able to commute between various sites.

To be accountable in own area of clinical responsibility, ensuring the delivery of evidence based clinical interventions and practice for a specialist caseload.To continue to demonstrate specialist clinical skills in practice and provide support, training, and advice regarding the delivery of care in partnership with patients, relatives, staff, managers and externally with other agencies.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Knowledge and understanding of the evidence-based relevant to the clinical area
Experience Essential
  • Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
  • Experience of multi-agency/professional working
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active patient/relative involvement/participation
Skills and Competencies Essential
  • Able to demonstrate effective inter-personal/communication skills
  • Evidence of good time management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes within a culture of equality and diversity
  • Ability to commute between the various sites
