We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join the Mid Devon OPMH team based at Tiverton District Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly experienced and dynamic team as we move in to a more locally delivered service, linking in with our primary care networks.
We will support you to learn the skills you need to thrive in the role. We will offer you the training and development you need to support you in this role. In return, you will need to be motivated, flexible and eager to learn.
Main duties of the job
The role is dynamic and challenging. You will manage a caseload of organic and functional presentation. Working in a multi-disciplinary way to support the mental health needs of our clients.
You will also be part of the Care Homes Education and Support Team where you will be working closely with the local care homes supporting them to manage behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.

You will need to have some experience of working with people affected by mental illness in a team environment. The role involves liaising and communicating with various agencies, so we expect that you have excellent verbal and written skills. We expect you to have a good computer skills
Interacting with patients and the public you will be confident in giving clinical information and advice that improves their experience. Dealing with sensitive information daily, you will understand the importance of data security.
You will often work under pressure and without direct supervision, so we are looking for someone confident and capable. You will prioritise tasks, and manage your own workload, providing support for your colleagues where required.
You will become an important part of the team, working to ensure that every patient receives high quality care. You may be required to support the induction of new staff member, demonstrating activities to them and providing supervision to support administrators.

- An appropriate professional Mental Health qualification and registration e.g. RMN, OT or Social Worker
- Training to Level 2 in Safeguarding Adults, children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care
- staff
- Mentoring students in line with professional requirements
- - Managing a caseload of clients with a range of mental health presentation.
- - Working within a community setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
- - Providing clinical supervision.
- - Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
