The Occupational Therapists at Mill House Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) are recruiting a Band 6 to join them. This is an established OT team sitting within the MDT under the leadership of an Advanced OT. You would be joining other senior OTs, Band 5's, support workers and an OT apprentice to provide assessments and clinical interventions to Hillingdon service users. You must have CMHT experience at either Band 5 or 6.

CMHT Hillingdon is currently undergoing a transformation to become the North, East, and West Hub. The program's goal is to create a new population-based model for community mental health care. The new care model will redesign and reorganise existing borough-based community resources to form new Community Mental Health Hubs, each of which will be aligned with local Primary Care Networks. OT will be required to work autonomously across all three hubs.

We recognise that Band 6's are often the backbone of our clinical teams and we will therefore support their development both clinically and managerially. You will have opportunities to supervise staff, be an educator and have access to both internal and external training. We are committed to supporting staff growth, therefore Band 6 staff are encouraged to develop skills in leadership in preparation for Band 7 roles within CNWL.

Main duties of the job

To provide the multidisciplinary team (MDT) with an occupational therapy service and expertise.

To manage a caseload of service users/patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment.

To provide leadership for junior / unqualified staff through supervision and appraisal as required.

To act as fieldwork educator to students on practice placement.

To contribute to service development of local & Trust wide OT services.
