A number of exciting opportunities have arisen within the Colchester Specialist Community Mental Health Team. We are seeking applications from current Band 5 or Band 6 mental health practitioners for the following roles.

Successful applicants will be enthusiastic about workingwith service-users with a range of needs including psychosis and personality disorder. Applicants will benefit from working within a large MDT and draw upon the experience and expertise of our psychologists, psychiatrists, employment specialists, and support workers. This post offers an opportunity for applicants looking to develop in their career and we are happy to consider those withonly inpatient experience. We are also excited to support successfulapplicants to access dedicated training in various areas including therapy (CBT, Behavioural Family Therapy, etc.)where appropriate in the longer term.

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Job description Job responsibilities

  • Duty Team Coordinator (Option 1)

The successful candidate will provide safe and effective provision of the Duty Team. This is a full time role (Monday to Friday, 9-5). Duties include; planning and overseeing the day to day activity, review of service-users in crisis including those who have been admitted to local general hospitals/A&E departments in order to facilitate timely discharge. Other activities may include completing MHA Social Circumstances reports / attending MHA Tribunals, administering long-acting anti-psychotic 'depots', and attending Home First joint assessments on behalf of the team. This option will not involve any care coordination roles.
  • Initial Assessor/Reviewer (Option 2)

The successful candidate will take a lead on the provision of routine initial assessments for new referrals into the team and for systematic reviews of service-users currently under the team. This role requires the team member to complete a set number of holistic assessments or reviews each week as well as the corresponding initial assessment, care plan, risk assessment, and clustering documents. For this role, there is scope to consider flexible working (e.g. condensed hours and/or blended office and home working). This option will not involve any care coordination or duty roles.
  • Care Coordinator (Option 3)

The successful candidate will hold a caseload of service users to care coordinate, and will have a number of responsibilities that include attending CPA reviews, social care interventions, and administration of long-acting anti-psychotic 'depots', etc. Successful candidates will also possibly be required to complete a small number of initial assessments and support our duty function. Where the successful candidate is interested, we also welcome involvement in psychoeducational group program.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work
Desirable
  • Evidence of appropriate CPD post qualification e.g. BSc Community Nursing or AMHP status or clinical skill based qualification.
Experience Essential
  • Experience working with service-users in mental health settings
Desirable
  • Experience working with service-users in Community mental health settings
  • Experience working as a care coordinator
