At the beginning of the post we will determine the level of clinical supervision required; as a guideline, if you are a core trainee new to psychiatry, it is mandatory for you to discuss all patient management decisions that you make, prior to their being enacted. All clinical correspondence is supervised by the Consultant Psychiatrist.

Supervision will be provided by the ward consultants. There is also consultant availability on the phone/email as needed. Outside those hours, the trainee receives support from the ST and consultant on call as needed. At the beginning of the post the trainer will determine the level of clinical supervision required. The post holder will have the opportunity to join the out of hours on call rota covering either the Whittington, UCH or Royal Free Hospital A&Es and associated services. This is an optional component of the job, subject to candidate's interest.
