Main duties of the job
Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to apply for a permanent Band 6 position within the inpatient wards. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join the team.
The post is 37.5 hours per week and involves working a rotational shift system including night duties.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality clinical care to service users and their families and carers. You will participate in therapeutic group work programmes as well as taking the lead where appropriate. You will be required to administer medication and assess each individuals' care needs in order to develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care. You will also be required to support student nurses on placement.
As a Band 6 you will be expected to supervise members of the ward team. Strong leadership characteristics should be evident. There will also be opportunity for leadership development.

Redwoods Centre is situated in the rural town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The hospital offers mental health care and treatment across a variety of different age ranges and presentation. The current wards we are recruiting to are:
Each of the ward teamsare multi-disciplinary, including Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, Consultant Psychiatrists, to name just a few.
You may already live in Shropshire or are considering relocation to an idyllic semi-rural location.

- Laurel Ward is a mixed gender, Acute inpatient ward made up of 16 beds
- Birch Ward is a mixed gender, Acute inpatient ward made up of 16 beds
- Pine Ward is a mixed gender, Acute inpatient ward made up of 16 beds.
