Would you like to become part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary CAMHS Service?

Full OR Part-Time hours considered for this role.

We provide assessment and treatment for a range of complex emotional and mental health difficulties, within our population of children, young people and their families.

You'll be responsible for ensuring patient records are maintained in line with trust policies. We're looking for someone who is organised and able to keep on top of and plan your own caseload of work whilst managing clinics.

Main duties of the job

As a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist within this team, as well as providing a comprehensive Child Psychotherapy service, you will be responsible for developing collaborative relationships with other professionals.

You will also be using your skills to promote and develop the team's capacity for reflective practice, applying deeper relational understanding to the role of care co-ordination and the various psychological treatment approaches offered.

There will opportunities for to use research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the CAMHS East team.

They will need to work in line with trust Lone Working Policy. The post holder will be required to organise their own caseload and work, plan their own diary. They will also be required to manage clinics.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential
  • Successful completion of a doctoral level training in Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy approved and monitored by the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
  • Full Membership of Association of Child Psychotherapy
  • Willing to undertake specific supervision training relevant to this post.
Desirable
  • Training in Psychoanalytic Clinical Supervision
Knowledge Essential
  • Competence in core psychological assessment formulation and intervention skills.
  • Multi-disciplinary work in CAMHS
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and its effective application to the mental health problems
  • Competence in assessment and management of risk.
Desirable
  • Further training in specialist area post-qualifying, including approaches related to working with young people with a Feeding/ Eating Disorder and their families/carers.
