We are the local NHS Talking Therapies service offering 1:1 therapy as well as group work and online therapy.

Our team at Pendle & Ribble Valley Mindsmatter consist of a close team of PWPs, Counsellors and CBT therapists who work collaboratively to deliver the best service and outcomes for clients. We pride ourselves on the work we do.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality primary care IAPT and counselling) services to adults with mild to moderate mental health problems.

To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedure.

To deliver IAPT Counselling services in accordance with NICE guidelines, within agreed activity levels and model, meeting required key performance indicators (KPIs).

To promote wellbeing and social inclusion.

To work flexibly and in accordance with service demands.

To work to the agreed number of clinical contacts per week as set by the Team Lead

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Person Specification Education/ Qualifications Essential

• British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited Diploma
• Hold Registered status with BACP
• Evidence of working towards British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Accreditation (to be achieved within 12 months of taking up the post).

Knowledge Essential

• Knowledge of NHS structures and policy within a primary care context.
• Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this

Experience Essential

• Experience of psychological work with common mental health issue
• Experience of short term time-limited work.
• Evidence of regular supervised practice.

Skills and Abilities Essential

• Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to sustain intense levels of concentration responding and participating as required.
• Ability to self-reflect and use clinical supervision appropriately.
• Ability to cope and deal with highly distressing emotional circumstances

Work Related Circumstances Essential

• Ability to identify and employ mechanisms to safeguard high standards of care and clinical excellence
• To support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.
• Able to be flexible to work across various locations and offer remote and on-line therapy in addition to face to face contacts
