We are looking for a Senior Leader with experience in operational management to join our Care Service Leadership Team. The Head of Operations is part of a team of senior Managers and Clinical Leaders working collectively across the Care Services directorate to ensure that high quality care is consistently delivered in all our clinical services.

Working autonomously in our Services, they play a vital role working in close partnership with a Clinical Lead for the Services they manage; enabling staff and building effective relationships with stakeholders and commissioners - developing services to meet the needs of the population we serve.

Main duties of the job

In line with Trust values and strategy, the Head of Operations key accountability is the planning, organising and deployment of resources to deliver high quality care in their Service portfolio; accountable for ensuring that high standards of care are provided in line with requirements, regulations and good practice and that contractual requirements are delivered consistently within the funding available.

The postholder will provide highly expert levels of support and leadership to direct reports, ensuring that effective management, improvement and governance and performance systems are in place demonstrating positive leadership through their behavior and role modelling.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be required to develop, maintain and manage effective relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally, across all disciplines and including service users, carers, partner agencies and organisations. The post holder will need to be visible to front line staff and be an enabling and supportive senior leader and positive role model. They will always work within the Trust behaviour framework and make decisions and act in line with Trust values. They will communicate and interact widely and represent the Trust externally across all our networks and touchpoints.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Member of a recognised professional body and hold a current, relevant professional qualification & registration (e.g. RMN, RNLD, DipOT/BScOT,DipSW) or relevant training and significant experience in health service operational management
  • Recognised senior management training in leadership policy or strategy or experience. Post graduate learning to Masters level or equivalent
