We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and committed individual to join us and work as part of our Single Point of Access Team to deliver improved access and outstanding services for children and young people. You be joining friendly nurturing team and who work in fast paced service. You will need to hold a professional qualification and be from a strong community mental health background, ideally with experience and knowledge of CAMHS or children's services.

Main duties of the job

To promote the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families in the community. Understanding their needs, identifying risk and support the family in accessing appropriate services.To prevent more serious mental health problems in children and young people by early identification of the development of mental health problems.To have a wide range of knowledge in approaches to communicating and managing care with families, children and young people.To have excellent communication skills and to be able to promote integrated healthcare working internally and externally.

About us

You will be part of SPA and have responsibility with the Operational Lead for the implementation of the CAMHS SPA across Buckinghamshire. You will have specific responsibility for supporting children and young people to signpost and access assessment and intervention. The SPA will be working towards a culture where services from across the whole system (including health, education, and social care) come together to deliver positive and seamless experiences of care to children, young people and families.

You will be located at The Sue Nichols Centre, Aylesbury, but ability to travel around the county for business purposes is essential for this role.

The team works in hybrid fashion and candidates will be supported to work from to carry out some of their duties. The Single Point of Access operates between 08:00 and 18:00 and offers flexible working patterns to both meet your needs and the needs of the service in line with the Trust blended working model, with a mixture of agile and workplace working to support your health and wellbeing.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
