We are excited to be able to a suitably qualified CAMHS Practitioners to the Haringey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We are currently recruiting a Band 7 practitioner and are particularly keen to see applicants with Nursing/Occupational Therapy and Social Work qualifications.
The CAMHS generic team provides both generic and specialist mental health treatment for children and their families in Haringey. The team is based at St Ann's Hospital. The team consists of Clinical Psychologists, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists, specialist Speech and Language Therapists, Art Therapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Systemic Family Therapists.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will undertake direct clinical work in the CAMHS generic team contributing to the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessment, therapy, consultation, training and supervision as appropriate. They will also have the opportunity to be a part of their professional discipline group, across the service.
The successful applicant will also provide dedicated support to Children and Young People and their families in addition to working with colleagues from Education, Health, Social Care and the Voluntary Sector in order to plan appropriate and timely Interventions.

The service is in the process of adopting the principles of the Thrive model incorporating initiatives to increase resilience and early intervention in schools and the community through the Trailblazer project. It is benefitting from the interest and investment brought by this initiative as well as that of the Learning Disability and Autism Strategy (formally transforming care) agenda.
The London Borough of Haringey covers Tottenham, Wood Green, Hornsey, Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Highgate is situated between the inner-city areas of Hackney and Islington to the south and more suburban areas of Enfield and Barnet to the north and west.

- Case management skills
- Managing risk and complex situations.
- Ability to remain professional and courteous when under pressure.
- Working within an MDT effectively
- Ability to work with young people where the diagnosis is unclear and there may be differing views throughout the network on this.
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability undertake evidence based interventions with Children and Young People suffering from a range of mental health problems
- Team working skills, interpersonal skills and written and verbal skills
- Flexibility when considering use of clinic space will be required.

- Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Registered Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with evidence of further post-registration education and training
- First degree in a field relevant to mental health care and professional registration.
- Evidence of continuing training and education at post graduate level
- Relevant qualification in Psychosocial Interventions for people with and mental health needs
- Teaching and assessing in clinical practice or teaching equivalent.
- Experience of working with complex presentations of Children and Young People in the community.
- Significant clinical experience in the community demonstrable experience at Band 6 or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience in working in CAMHS services.
- Experience of working in partnership with other agencies.
- Understanding of and ability to manage KPI's relevant to the role
- Understanding of statutory policy relating to mental health care delivery for Children and Young People incl. Care Programme Approach, Care Act and the Mental Health Act.
- Knowledge of the process necessary for effective risk assessment and management
- Experience in supervising staff
- Experience of undertaking assessments of Children and Young People with complex presentations
- Experience of determining suitability for psychological approaches, Consultation/Liaison work
