Due to the current post holder going on maternity leave, we are delighted to be recruiting a new Applied Psychologist, CBT or CAT Therapist within North York Community Mental Health Team for a 12 month fixed term contract.
The post will allow the successful candidate the opportunity of working in a compassionate, trauma informed multi-disciplinary team covering York.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will either be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist or have an RMN or equivalent core qualification and current professional registration and a qualification that provides eligibility for accreditation as Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) or a qualification that provides eligibility for accreditation as Cognitive Analytic Therapist Practitioner with Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy UK.
You will need to have demonstrable first-hand experience of working in a mental health setting, experience of delivering groups and a passion for involving service users in their care. You will also be able to demonstrate emotional resilience and a capacity to maintain a compassionate approach even in stressful situations.
Working alongside our Highly Specialist Applied Psychologists, the successful candidates will complete service and psychology assessments, contribute to formulation and care planning and deliver interventions, including group work. There may also be opportunities for audit and service evaluations. You will have access to CPD within the specialty.
About us
The Trust is committed to providing support and supervision for continuing professional development and we have an excellent track record for developing our psychology workforce.
