We wish to appoint a part-time Senior Assistant Psychologist (up to 15 hours per week) to deliver brief Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) within a multi-site Randomised Controlled Trial for clients experiencing psychosis. The trial is part of an established programme of research and clinical activity that is seeking to increase access to CBT for this client group. The postholder will be supervised by experienced Clinical Psychologists. We would welcome applications from people who have experience of being an Assistant Psychologist and experience of working with clients who have a diagnosis of psychosis. Applicants must have no previous experience of training as a therapist, e.g., within IAPT Services. The successful applicants will need to be available to work on Wednesdays

Main duties of the job

To undertake projects relating to service development and evaluation.To set up databases, spreadsheets and using advanced IT skills in evaluation audit and research.To support assessment and treatment interventions undertaken by the service.To undertake direct and indirect clinical work that is managed and goals agreed and reviewed through regular supervision by a qualified applied HPC registered Psychologist.To plan, organise and co-teach psycho-educational courses and groups with appropriately qualified professional staff.To liaise with a range of services (including health, social care and voluntary agencies) relevant to the working area

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

• oHonours degree at 2:2 or above in Psychology, or equivalent. Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership with the BPS

Desirable

• oFurther post graduate training in relevant area of professional psychology, health and social care practice, and / or research design and analysis

Experience Essential

• oPrevious experience of being in an assistant psychologist post. o Experience of working with people with complex needs o Experience of working with people with disabilities, in a health or Mental Health setting and or work with people with complex needs o Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team o Experience of group work and individual therapeutic contact o No formal training un the delivery of psychological therapy o Experience of working with psychosis patients
