The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical care for the patients in community for the East Cluster. Additionally, the post-holder will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the development of the broader Older Adult team. The post holder w The post holder will work with the Home-Based Treatment Team and Care Coordinators from the three Community Mental Health Teams in Salford, to facilitate discharge, and provide an alternative to inpatient admission.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake assessments of referrals/ admissions to the service
- Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations.
- Provide management in treatment resistant and complex presentations
- Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.
- Preparation of reports for governance related activities, whether it be for hearings or meetings.
- Work in a collaborative way with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.

Job description Job responsibilities
- Manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the associate medical director and in accordance with the Trusts personnel policies and procedures. This may include assessing competences under the Modernising Medical Careers framework.
- Ensure that junior medical staff working with the post holder operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant
- Work with local managers (their lead consultant, associate medical director, deputy operational director and other operational managers) and professional colleagues in ensuring the efficient running of services, and share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management.
- Comply with the Trusts agreed policies, procedures, standing orders and financial instructions, and to take an active role in the financial management of the service and support the medical director and other managers in preparing plans for services.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
- Excellent knowledge in specialty
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
