An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Team Leader position at The Older Adults Assessment Service (TOPAS) (Older Adults Mental Health) has arisen.

The successful candidate will work within a dedicated team of different disciplines to assess and treat various mental health conditions, challenging behaviour and severe and enduring mental illnesses.

Main duties of the job

We seek compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our excellent teams on TOPAS Ward Older Adults Mental Health Services. Rated by The Care Quality Commission (CQC) as Good, we wish to recruit Nurses who embody the core values of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) Compassion, Respect, Empowerment, and Partnership. We are dedicated to providing the best care for our Service Users during their inpatient stay.

As a Clinical Team Leader, you will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and be responsible for delivering evidence-based interventions to service users in acute crises. You will be highly skilled in supporting their recovery and working with service users experiencing high levels of distress and disturbance. You will also deputise for the Ward manager when required

Job description Job responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for leading the nursing team and ensuring a high quality of patient care. The Clinical Team Leader will work with the staff to ensure that the process of assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care is of an excellent standard.

The postholder will work to support the Ward Manager by active involvement in service development.

The post holder will demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Professional Qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/General) to degree level or equivalent. Maintains current registration with the NMC
  • Further specialist knowledge/post registration experience in older adults
Desirable
  • RGN
Experience Essential
  • Can demonstrate post registration experience
  • Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding.
  • Specialist and area specific experience.
Knowledge Essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments
Other Desirable
  • UK Driving Licence
