We are looking to recruit Registered and Newly Qualified Mental Health Nurses at Farnham Road Hospital.

Farnham Road Hospital is a 60 bed Inpatient Service, supporting the needs of working age adults.

We have various wards and our rehabilitation service is looking for Staff Nurses with experience or newly qualified staff.

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be given the opportunity to learn and grow into your role. If you are an experienced Band 5 Nurse looking to progress, we have many opportunities to expand your knowledge and prepare you for your career progression. You will be a source of mental health knowledge, have vision and resilience to support the ward and your colleagues in keeping the ward environment safe and productive.

We provide a comprehensive and continuous development programme from the moment you join us. Newly qualified nurses complete a multidisciplinary preceptorship programme with strong links to the integrated care systems we serve.

SABP is a member of the NHS Leadership Academy South, and amongst a number of courses and programmes, you are offered free coaching and mentoring at points in your career where you need it the most. We take full advantage of the education funding from HEE and ensure this is used across all staff groups and included where needed most, at the frontline.

We are rated GOOD by the CQC and are proud to provide high quality care for people using our mental health, learning disability and drug and alcohol services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, participating in the provision of on-going assessments, care planning, treatment and support of people with serious and enduring mental health problems and people in crisis. You will particularly ensure access to and availability of mental health nursing skills to users of mental health services and their families.

We are one of only twelve early implementer sites across the UK that is introducing new models of innovative community mental health care that will significantly improve access to timely, evidence-based, and best practice mental health interventions for people closer to home.

We will begin work on our second new hospital this year, in Chertsey, as part of our New Hospitals Programme delivering care in state-of-the-art purpose-built facilities. Our Farnham Road Hospital was the first hospital to be redeveloped and we will be building a third hospital in East Surrey.

We offer a number of excellent staff benefits and understand the importance of a healthy work life balance. Some of our benefits are highlighted here:
  • Career Progression and Development Opportunities
  • NHS Pension: employers contribution 14.38% from day one
  • Subsidised nursery places
  • Car Scheme: tax saving up to £6,000
  • Discounted Nuffield Gym Membership
  • Generous annual leave plus bank holidays
