An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality and Governance Officer to join the quality team at Reach Out Provider Collaborative commissioning function. The role will be pivotal in supporting Reach Out in delivering quality assurance and improvement across the collaborative. The successful candidate will work closely with Reach Out leadership team, case management team, lead provider teams, Experts by Experience and Reach Out PC clinical and operational leads.

Main duties of the job

Enable the delivery of the Lead Provider and Provider Collaborative Quality Assurance, Governance and Improvement Framework to oversee Reach Out contract portfolio.

Support the Quality Governance Lead and Clinical Programme Director in their role to ensure the Collaborative delivers quality performance against the contract with providers accountable for the delivery of quality assurance and improvement plans.

Coordinate and manage SIs and ensure lessons learnt are fed back into the relevant provider, lead provider and wider collaborative

Work with designated provider leads, seek assurance and monitor compliance in relation to quality KPI dashboard, QSIS, CQC regulatory requirements, clinical policy and guidance and best available clinical evidence.

Review and monitor risk registers jointly with Reach Out Quality and Governance Lead to ensure appropriate clinical risk indicators are being recorded, reviewed and actioned regularly.

Work with the Reach Out case managers and commissioning and contract teams to provide advice and analysis in relation to quality monitoring and surveillance.

Take part in a programme of clinical site visits over the year

Compile monthly quality dashboards.

Deputise on behalf of Reach Out Quality and Governance Lead at Contract meetings with providers and support the wider team in monitoring the quality of commissioned services.

This role gives the opportunity for hybrid working and you will typically be asked to work in a hybrid way, working from your home and also from Trust HQ The Uffculme Centre, or any other agreed site.

Person Specification Training and Qualifications Essential
  • Educated to post graduate level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development in health related field
Desirable
  • Quality Governance Management qualification
  • Registered health professional
Experience Essential
  • Experience of production of information / reports to assure quality and share learning
  • Experience of analysis and presentation of complex data relating to quality, safety and clinical effectiveness.
  • Trained in a lean methodology or other service improvement /QI processes
  • Experience of delivering training and workshops (In-person and virtual)
Desirable
  • Experience of contributing/participating in quality review
Knowledge Essential
  • An understanding of service quality and quality management
  • Detailed knowledge of mental health services, and specifically inpatient and community forensic services
  • Understanding of the components of quality improvement, clinical governance and other quality related issues, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, care pathway development, policy development
  • Knowledge of a range of quality improvement and safety systems
  • Microsoft Software Packages including Outlook, Word, Advanced Excel skill.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of quality assurance in commissioning
