The Larches are looking for an enthusiastic and committed deputy unit manager to join their high quality specialist multi-disciplinary forensic and learning disability inpatient service based on Hallam Street Hospital site in Sandwell.

If you are Registered and have an interest in promoting service user rehabilitation and recovery in our service then this post is for you. Working alongside experienced multi-disciplinary teams, the post holder will be expected to provide strong clinical leadership and maintaining high clinical standards in care delivery

Job description
Job responsibilities

Works as a qualified member of the nursing team under the leadership of the Unit Manager.

2. Ensures that the clinical environment is conducive to the well-being of patients, visitors and members of staff, and reports all situations that may be detrimental or potentially detrimental to the well-being of patients and visitors.

3. Ensures assessments of patients determine their levels of need and that care planning accurately reflects the assessment results and is monitored for progress made.

4. Ensure the co-operation and full involvement of patients and relatives in the individuals care, progress and support.

5. Take part in audits, develop actions plans and ensure that these are monitored and maintained.

Essential
  • First level registered nurse
  • Substantive experience at a Band 5 level
  • Experience of multi professional collaboration and partnership

Desirable
  • Experience within secure care inpatient services with individuals with a learning disability who have offended or who have challenging behaviour.
  • Evidence of recent personal and professional development - linked to management and leadership skills.
