We are looking for a full time CAMHS Clinician to join our highly successful Stockton Getting More Help Team ( CAMHS) based at Viscount House in Stockton.

This is a full time, permanent post

We are a forward thinking, creative team that encourages all team members to share their ideas to improve our service for young people and their families. The role of the CAMHS clinician is crucial in young peoples recovery and improving outcomes.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of an MDT that consists of Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing staff, OT, Art Therapy and support staff - all supported by a dedicated admin team.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload and hold Care Co-ordinator/Lead Professional responsibility.

You will offer assessment and treatment for the young people allocated to you and liaise with partner agencies.

Stockton GMH Team (CAMHS) support the staff through ongoing supervision, case discussions, reflective practice and 'soon' regular in house CPD sessions.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • CAMHS Degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
  • Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession.
  • Clinical Supervisor
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
Desirable
  • Leadership or management qualification.
Experience Essential
  • Significant experience working with children and young people with mental ill health in a community setting.
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Evidence of Quality Improvement Methodology
Skills Essential
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to children and young people, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead professional / care co-ordinator responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and monitor, co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of a team.
