An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 NMP, with a recorded prescribing qualification, to join our dynamic but friendly memory assessment team, based at Derby, covering south of the county, including city.
Newly Qualified NMP is considered for this position if they can demonstrate appropriate knowledge around prescribing dementia drugs.
Our team operates Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays.
The NMP role will involve assessing, treating and supporting older adults with memory problems and diagnosis of dementia. The NMP plays an important role in their diagnostic pathway.
Knowledge and expertise in the area of older adults and the complexities associated with this age group brings will be essential.
Our NMPs have access to regular supervision, including an NMP Forum and engage in practice/personal development.
There is an expectation that that in this senior clinical position, knowledge is shared amongst others through teaching and offering supervision.
Main duties of the job
This post will suit an enthusiastic, driven, motivated and flexible NMP with experience of working in an independent prescribing practitioner role.
A newly-qualified NMP with no prior experience will be considered. However, they would need to undergo 3 month supplementary prescribing.
The team is well placed to support a newly-qualified NMP.
Arrangements for Consultant support and prescribing supervision are in place.
The post holder will be required to engage in CPD, including a mix of self-directed learning and mentored-practice, supported by internally and externally taught training.
As a practitioner, you will assess patients who present to memory assessment service and plan their care, administer treatment and discharge supported by the Team Consultant Psychiatrist.
The role involve collaborative working with voluntary agencies and third party organisations.
This is a very supportive team and you will be encouraged to continue your professional development, with the help of regular supervision and access to training opportunities.
