An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team, providing dietetic care to service users within Mental Health facilities. This is a progression post, wherein the post holder will be supported to meet a range of competencies to progress from Band 5 to Band 6 level. We welcome applications from new graduates.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic dietitian to work within our Adult Mental Health Inpatient units, including secure care, rehab, acute and PICU. We are looking for ability to adapt and transferable dietetic skills to meet our service priority of ensuring the nutrition and hydration needs of our inpatients are adequately met, and to work in partnership with a range of services to promote improved physical health for people with mental health conditions at different stages of their recovery.
Our small team is supportive, innovative and provides strong links with the wider MDT and local services. We are committed to professional and personal development, and are committed to displaying the Trust values in the work that we do.
Main duties of the job
The post covers inpatient secure services and inpatient adult mental health services, thereby giving the post-holder the opportunity to work with a range of client groups.
The post-holder will work with a variety of services users at different stages of their recovery, and provide dietetic advice on a plethora of clinical conditions including nutrition support, bowel disorders, disordered eating, with a strong focus on obesity/weight management, diabetes and cardiovascular risk.
Alongside the clinical aspect, the post-holder will have the opportunity to participate in service development, clinical audit, CPD opportunities and will play an active role in providing student training.
The post holder will be supported by senior members of the team, encouraged with professional development and will have access to regular management and clinical supervision to support development needs.
The department base is The Barberry Centre (Edgbaston, Birmingham) with the requirement to travel to Trust sites across the city. An element of remote working is also negotiable. This post is Mon-Fri, no weekend work or bank holiday cover required.
