This role will receive a payment equivalent to 10% of your annual basic salary, (pro-rata) which will be paid in 6 payments.
We can also offer favourable relocation packages of up to £8,000 to suitable candidates wishing to relocate to Oxfordshire for this role.
Are you a creative and dynamic experienced Occupational Therapist? Want to make a difference to the lives of young people at a vulnerable stage of their illness? Then come join our new adolescent PICU team: a purpose built psychiatric intensive care unit for young people.
We are looking for a forward thinking Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to shape the Occupational Therapy service and support the leadership of the new PICU.
Ideally you will have experience of working with children or in a PICU setting and understand the principles of PBS and sensory experiences on individual functioning. Training on Positive Behaviour Support will be provided for all staff.
There will be an expectation for this role to be part of the senior leadership support which will mean some flexible working out of core hours (including some evening/weekend work).
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who is energetic and enthusiastic about working collaboratively with young people and their families, and who is committed to utilising their occupational therapy skills to ensure to assess /engage and support the young people to have to the least restrictive care possible and develop meaningful occupations and activities.
The unit is committed to teaching/training and providing evidence-based care. Developing research for adolescent inpatient care will be a crucial component of the role. Oxford Health can provide an in service Masters programme with modules including Autism, Positive Behaviour Support and Recovery and Mental health.
You will be well supported within this role by the wider AHP leadership team, providing a collaborative network to enhance the roles of AHPs in mental health services.

Person Specification Knowledge Essential
- Experience of working as a registered OT in Mental Health Services
- Experience of holding a complex caseload within a CAMHS service
- Supervising others as part of a change process
- Budget management & teaching skills
- Health Professions Council registered Occupational Therapist with Dip COT qualification or degree
- Member of the British Association/College of Occupational Therapists
- Clinical work with people with mental health needs
- Clinical & legislative knowledge in mental health
- Post qualifying education e.g., MSc modules, in relevant area - sensory integration, PBS
