The Forensic Adolescent Consultation and Treatment Service (FACTS) is a national Tier-4 service that provides specialist assessment and consultation for children (aged 10-17) deemed high risk to others and who present with significant complexity.

Working alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues, the successful candidate will provide psychological formulation, assessment and consultation to the multi-agency system that support children who have come into contact with the youth justice system and to children under CAMHS services who present with significant risk. A large component of this role will be the provision of multi-agency trauma informed consultation to youth justice staff within youth offending teams.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an Educational, Counselling, Forensic or Clinical Psychologist to join a growing and supportive psychology team within FACTs. The successful candidate will provide a service primarily in South Wales. There is opportunity to consider working from home arrangements and flexible working where required.

The post holder will be instrumental in the roll out of Enhanced Case Management (ECM) - a trauma informed approach to supporting children known to youth justice. This approach has been evaluated and is now being rolled out across all 17 YOT's in Wales. The role involves co-facilitating team formulation meetings alongside Youth Offending Team (YOT) practitioners and the provision of supervision for YOT caseworkers. You will also contribute to further service developments including the development and facilitation of a training package for all staff in YOTs and smaller reflective groups.

The role will also involve the provision of advice and consultation to CAMHs' services for children who present with a high level of complexity and significant risk to others. You will provide comprehensive risk assessment and advice and consultation regarding risk management. Training in the administration of structured risk assessment can be provided on appointment. You will also be supported in other areas of training and interests relevant to this post.
