Are you a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist looking for your first post within a supportive environment?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, hard working team of Adult Speech and Language Therapists based in Somerset.

As part of this team you will benefit from a range of opportunities to work in different settings and gain valuable experience whilst being fully supported. There will be regular one to one line management support, peer support , team meetings and CPD activities.

The post is suitable for a Newly Qualified Therapist and full support will be provided to enable you to work through your Newly Qualified competencies.

Equally, we would welcome applications from experienced Band 5 therapists looking to move to the area or a change of role to gain experience working with adults.

The successful candidate will be assigned a dysphagia supervisor and will work through our 6 month in-house dysphagia competency program. This will entail an initial two months of intensive acute based dysphagia work, based at Musgrove Hospital or Yeovil District Hospital followed by a mixture of acute and community dysphagia work.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months and once trained, will involve a mixed caseload of acute, care homes, and acute and community stroke work.

The travel base will be agreed with the successful candidate as there is some flexibility with this according to where the candidate lives.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

  • To assess, diagnose and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders across a variety of settings including acute stroke, acute general medicine, stoke rehabilitation and care homes.
