An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on Willow Ward at the Campbell Centre. We require a band 6 RMN or RNLD working alongside our dedicated Multi-Disciplinary team who provide care and support to our inpatients.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will work as part of the ward team to ensure high standards of care and the effective management of acute services with an emphasis on safety, IPC and ensuring accurate recording of information.

We support flexible working and can accommodate part- and full-time positions. Staff are able to work a mixture of Early's 7.30am-3.30pm, Late's 2pm -10pm , Long days 7.30am-10pm and Night's 9pm-8am.

We will ensure that supervision and continuing development reviews are provided and that your PDP needs are supported in line with service development.

Job description Job responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for leading the nursing team and ensuring a high quality of patient care. The Charge Nurse will work with the staff to ensure that the process of assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care is of an excellent standard.

The postholder will work to support the Ward Manager by active involvement in service development.

The post holder will demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals

The post holder will undertake the role of unit coordinator with responsibility for liaising with internal and external agencies out of hours including accepting patients to the Health Base Place of Safety (S136 Suite)

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Professional Qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/General) to degree level or equivalent. Maintains current registration with the NMC
  • Further specialist knowledge/post registration experience in specific service area or other formal training
Experience Essential
  • Can demonstrate post registration experience.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding. Specialist and area specific experience.
Knowledge Essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments
Other Essential
  • Able to undertake training in the management of violence reduction.
