This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic CBT Therapist/ Psychological Therapist/Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

You will need have had accredited training as well as current registration with an appropriate body such as HCPC, BABCP. We encourage core professions such as Nursing/OT with the requisite therapy accreditation to apply. You will be working alongside other qualified Psychologists and therapists to deliver formulation based individual and group interventions.

This post is 1 wte Band 7 in the Mid Hub covering Chelmsford, Braintree and Maldon. EPUT offers flexible working options and job share/part time working can also be considered.

PMHS consists of five perinatal hubs across Essex with a MDT staff mix comprising of Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, OT, Social Work and Nursery Nursing. PMHS has established pathways with maternity, health visiting, secondary care mental health services and primary care services which strengthens provision to be timely and effective for mothers in the perinatal period.

There is a high standard of in house specialist supervision available to support new and existing skills in CBT with BACAP registered supervisors as well as supervisions to support other models such as EMDR/CFT/DBT and parent infant interventions such as VIG and COS. The service offers a comprehensive perinatal training package available for successful candidates who are looking to move into this area of work.

Main duties of the job

This role offers opportunities to work with a range of complex psychological needs arising during pregnancy, birth and postnatally.

The delivery of psychological therapies is through both individual and group approaches and there are a wide range of therapies utilised from CFT/CBT/EMDR as well as parent infant interventions such as VIG and COS.

Consultation is a key part of the service delivery and there will be an expectation to support staff across the service to formulate a family's difficulties as well as supervise staff with the delivery of psychological informed approaches.

You will join a Psychology Directorate that has had significant investment and is led by a Clinical Director of Psychological Services providing robust governance and support of EPUT psychologists. EPUT Psychological Services provide extensive community Adult Mental Health, In-Patient, and EIP, Secure & Forensic, Clinical Health, Asperger's and Learning Disabilities services across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, so you will join an enthusiastic and diverse team of Clinical, Counselling and Forensic Psychologists, CBT therapists, and Psychotherapists and Family Systemic Psychotherapists.

The Services enjoys good links with universities in Essex, Hertfordshire and London, Clinical research, teaching and specialised interests are actively encouraged.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • oDoctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology as accredited by the HCPC and BPS Or oAllied Health Professional with registration to professional bodies such as HCPC , NMC as well as a psychotherapeutic accreditation e.g. BACP Or oPractising Psychotherapist who is fully qualified registered member of the relevant accrediting body e.g. UKCP, ACP, BPC or BACP,
Desirable
  • oSignificant training in a Trauma informed approaches e.g. oEMDR oDBT oCBT for Trauma oMBT
Experience Essential
  • Significant experience of working with mental health presentations

  • oKnowledge of psychological therapies when working with perinatal presentations
