Central and Northwest London NHS Trust provide mental health services in Milton Keynes. The are a range of services for Children and Young People, Adults of a Working Age and Older Adults.

Our services are both hospital and community based.

In our children and Young Peoples service we provide Intensive support/ Assessments in A&E and MKUH( LIST), Core CAMHS services including a Single Point of access(SPA) ,Mental Health Support Teams (who support children in local schools) and an Eating Disorder service for both children and adults.

Our adult services consist of 2 acute in-patient units, 1 male and 1 female based at the Campbell Centre and a 7 bedded rehabilitation unit (Cherrywood) located in Wavendon Gate.

Main duties of the job

We also have an extensive range of community services:

The Hub - this includes three treatment pathways- Diagnosis and Condition Management, psychosocial interventions and therapies.
  • Assertive Outreach Team - working with our patients who have a severe and enduring mental health need and who, historically have been difficult to engage.
  • Recovery College
  • Early Intervention
  • Perinatal and Maternity, Trauma, Loss and Care Service
  • Talking Therapies 9IAPT)
  • Primary Care Plus
  • Primary Mental Health Practitioners - working within GP surgeries
  • Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT)
  • Single Point of access (SPA)
  • Hospital Liaison
  • Street Triage and Ambulance Triage

Our Older Adults service has a 15 bedded in-patient unit, located in Bletchley - this service looks after patients with either an organic or a functional difficulty. We also have a small healthy Ageing Community team and a Specialist Memory Service.

In order to provide the above services we employ a range of staff - this includes registered ( RMNs) and unregistered nurses (HCSWs) , Occupational Therapists, Peer Support Workers, Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Associate Practitioners, Activity Assistants, Housekeepers, Admin staff and Doctors.
