We have exciting opportunities for experienced Nurses to join us in delivering high quality community mental health care within the North West of Hertfordshire. Our services cover the localities of St. Albans.

The area is well served with transport links to historic Hertfordshire and its glorious countryside as well as into London and beyond.

The successful candidate will receive up to £120 towards their registration fee, which will be paid upon commencement. This payment will be subject to tax and national insurance deductions.

Main duties of the job

In accordance with the systems, policies, standards and procedures that ensure the provision of high quality services within frameworks agreed by the Trust you will be responsible for the delivery of care to an allocated caseload: including implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Care

Plans within the CPA Framework; administering and/or supervision of administration of prescribed medication and liaising with other professionals including GPs and external agencies. You will also ensure full compliance with aftercare issues such as Social Care requirements.

The postholder will be required to be compliant with the Mental Health Act, Code Of Practice and other relevant legislation.

Job description Job responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for the clinical and operational dayto day service delivery ensuring that an individualised comprehensiveassessment and Care Management service is effectively delivered.

Responsibilities include the clinical and operational supervision ofjunior nursing staff and students as delegated by the team manager.

To be accountable for delivering a quality services that is effective andefficient in line with the organisations objectives and performanceindicators

To contribute to strategic service development working collaborativelywith other agencies.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • RMN or Dip/Bsc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing
  • ENB 998/Preceptorship and Mentorship
Desirable
  • ENB 812/Bsc in Specialist Community Nursing Practice (Mental Health).
  • Psychosocial interventions
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working in a range of settings relevant to the post
  • At least 2 years of post registration experience with at least one year at Band 5.
  • Experience of working in acute mental health inpatient/day care services
  • Experience of working in situations of crisis and emotionally demanding environments
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding process
  • Experience of teaching and training
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a multi-ethnic community
  • Experience of delivering evidence based care
Desirable
  • Experience of working with acute mental health problems in a community setting.
Knowledge Essential
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical issues, strategic frameworks and current guidelines regarding the range of presenting problems in adult mental health, their implications for both practices and clinical management
