We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated registered nurse with extensive experience of working in learning disabilities services and providing leadership to clinical teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to contribute to and shape the strategic direction for all Learning Disability Services There will be opportunities to lead on quality improvement initiatives, develop Trust policy which reflects national standards, deliver training and represent the Trust at senior stakeholder meetings.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Lead Nurse and Clinical Director. Regular supervision will be provided and opportunities for CPD actively promoted.
Main duties of the job
Be a visible and professional clinical leader with responsibility for day to day professional and operational responsibility for a number of community and inpatient areas across the ABUHB area.
Support the Lead Nurse, Clinical Director & Directorate Manager to assure high quality, effective and efficient patient services and will be line managed by the Lead Nurse Directorate Manager Learning Disabilities, with professional accountability to the Lead Nurse.
Play a pivotal role in developing and implementing key strategic, clinical and operational changes to services in line with service reviews.
Be responsible for the operational management of Learning Disability services within a defined area, developing the role of the team leaders and developing the roles within the multi-disciplinary teams.
Be responsible for ensuring that performance management is robust across their area of responsibility.
Assist with the strategic direction for all Learning Disability Services. With management team colleagues will lead in the development of strategic and operational frameworks for staff to practice within, in order to develop, maintain and evaluate systems and structures, which promote the rights responsibilities and diversities of people with a learning disability.
Lead on specific projects on behalf of the Directorate as agreed with the Clinical Director, Directorate Manager and Lead Nurse.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
