We require a highly skilled, highly motivated Physiotherapist to work in West Cornwall as a Spinal Clinical Specialist/ Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, within the Spinal Interface Service.
The successful applicant will have advanced clinical reasoning skills and excellent communication skills. Working as a Spinal Clinical Specialist/ Advanced Practice Physiotherapist the post holder will assess, diagnose, organise investigations and act on results as required, including listing for spinal injections and referring for surgical opinion. The applicant Will be expected to convey complex pain management and pathology concepts, educate and advise appropriately.
Main duties of the job
The role holder will be involved in regular MDT discussing cases with Spinal Surgeons and Pain Consultants. The role presents great opportunities to develop as a spinal clinician with in a very supportive team, plus collaborate with the wider spinal community in the South West on national pathway issues and initiatives.
Working as a Spinal Clinical Specialist/ Advanced Practitioner the post holder will provide clinical expertise, and make decisions about the best course of action for patients' care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions).
The post holder will be working in west Cornwall, base to be agreed. Clinics primarily in west Cornwall however as a countywide service, flexibility to work and cover clinics across the county maybe necessary.
Full and Part time applications will be considered.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy, or equivalent.
- Membership of appropriate clinical interest groups.
- HCPC registered.
- Masters Degree in Appropriate subject or evidence of working towards one e.g. Orthopaedic Medicine/Pain Management etc.
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Significant senior experience within a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service.
- Substantial experience of managing musculoskeletal and orthopaedic spinal patients
- Extensive experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, an in-depth understanding of their roles and respect for the other professionals within the team.
- Broad range of Senior experience in acute medical, orthopaedic, and rehabilitation work.
- Significant experience of working in Spinal Consultant clinics or Pain Services.
- Advanced level orthopaedic assessment and treatment skills.
- Computer literate and excellent presentation skills.
- Good teaching ability / education experience.
