This is a really exciting time to join Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as an Occupational Therapist.
The Killamarsh Older Adult CMHT are looking for an enthusiastic, Band 6, Senior Occupational Therapist to join their friendly and supportive team, based at Killamarsh Clinic in Killamarsh.
Ideally, you will have recent and relevant experience of working with older adults with organic and functional illness, preferably in a community setting.
The service focuses on providing support to our patients within their own homes and in care homes.
We complete initial assessment, risk assessments and care plans with our service users, their family & carers.
CMHT work in collaboration with our partners in both statutory and the voluntary sector to provide patient-centred care.
The service operates Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
We have an established team, including Admin support, Community Support Workers, CPNs, Band 5 OT, Clinical Psychologist and a very supportive Consultant.
We are a very friendly team offering support to our colleagues in what can be a very challenging role.

Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Therapist in the team, you will support patients who would benefit from occupational therapy intervention.
- You will play a key role in delivering holistic, person-centred assessments, environmental assessments using adaptive & compensatory approaches.
- This will include offering clinical advice on the assessment and therapeutic intervention of clients' occupational and functional needs.
- Within the CMHT, Occupational Therapists are core to the team in providing non-pharmacological interventions, as part of the multi-disciplinary meeting.
- Our therapy team currently consists of 1 Band 5 OT and 2 Community Support Workers.
- You will embrace the delivery of best practice guidelines for patients with both complex organic and functional needs.
- You will need to be a dynamic clinician with good interpersonal skills to enable engagement of service users and their families or carers.
- You will be able to make complex decisions, cover duty, formulate detailed assessments and person-centred care plans to assist in the assessment and treatment of patient care.
- Supporting students during their placement.
- You must have a full, valid UK driving license and the means to travel around the community.
