Are you an experienced nurse in ADHD/ Autism who has qualified as a nurse prescriber and passionate about transforming systems to achieve high quality care for young people? If so, we are looking for you.
We have an exciting opportunity for a non-medical prescriber who is keen to provide leadership and support to the ADHD branch of the neurodevelopmental team within the children and young person's service.
The Neurodevelopmental Service opened its doors in 2022 and as a service we are keen to use the latest research and guidance to provide a high quality needs led approach to assessment and produce clear reports from the assessments we complete.
Main duties of the job
The role involves supporting the service development of the neurodevelopmental team and upskilling of staff, whilst also using their clinical expertise to facilitate neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments and ADHD medication prescriptions for young people.
We have lots of opportunities around quality improvement and coproduction with young people and families to continue shaping the service to one that leads in this field.

Job description Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will have experience in the assessment and treatment of children & young people (CYP) with neurodevelopmental disorders and/or mental health issue with a non-medical prescribing qualification.
To provide timely assessment of CYP who are referred to ADHD pathway and provide care planning and support for their pharmacological and treatment plans. To provide support, advice and education to Mindworks CAMHS and other Services regarding YP and ADHD.
Deliver on the following key area and lead team functioning with particular focus on;
Early identification, management and intervention for CYP with anxiety, depression and/or behaviour difficulties associated with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Support on the provision of Non-medical prescribing.
Interface with CAMHS Services and Pharmacological Services promoting connectivity and aiding effective care planning between the BEN pathway and other services.
Case load holder of CYP with diagnosis of ADHD.
Provide nursing leadership within Mindsight CAMHS
Provide supervision and training to other qualified nurses and student nurses.
Qualifications required
Professional qualification as an RMN/RGN/RSCN/RNLD
Driving License suitable for use in the United Kingdom
Mentorship qualification (desirable)
Qualification as a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP)
Experience required
Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience working in the relevant field i.e. CAMHS
Suitable for someone who is passionate about developing and providing high quality, evidence based care and treatment to young people with ADHD and/or mental health problems.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will work closely with the community CAMHS teams during office hours, responding to consultations or referrals of CYP and families
The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, undertaking clinical assessment of CYP who may have a complex presentation. Working alongside other providers both statutory and non-statutory in nature.
To work closely with the CYPS Medical Consultants.
To manage own caseload from referral to discharge/transfer.
Ensure that outcome measures for the service are implemented and audited. Contribute to relevant research and evidence based practice.
Be responsible for the assessment and subsequent facilitation of referral to Mindsight CAMHS and other services.
Work in accordance with the Trust Non-Medical Prescribing Policy and Procedure and will participate in the Trust-wide and local NMP support groups.
undertake regular physical health checks on the young person
Lead on the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols relevant to sphere of responsibility
Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance to support, maintain and develop own and service clinical practice
Will be qualified non-medical prescriber, prescribing independently.
Will be qualified to assess and monitor the physical health and well-being of CYP
Lead the provision of non-medical prescribing and oversee this pathway within CYPS
Contribute to the strategic development of the CAMHS nursing workforce
