Our team is made up of Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists Family Therapists, Assistant Psychologists and administrators.

Main duties of the job

We have developed a 12-month secondment / fixed term opportunity for either anexisting Band 7 who wants a new challenge or a Band 6 Nurse who wishes to gain B7 experience

The Clinical Nurse Specialist role will be part of the Sutton CAMHS SPA in the London Borough of Sutton where you will help and support the Child or Young Person at their most vulnerable time.

You will be based in the CAMHS Single Point of Assessment assisting with assessment and sign posting ensuring Children and Young People reach the most suitable pathway within the locally agreed time frames.

An excellent opportunity for a Nurse to develop their CAMHS Nursing expertise by being part of a dynamic CAMHS Service and also supported by four other senior nurses

The position will be based within Sutton CAMHS, Jubilee Health Centre, East Building 2, 6 Stanley Park Road, Wallington, Surrey, SM6 0EX

Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The

The post holder will:
  • Functions of the post will include high quality assessments, formulation, intervention where appropriate and consultatio
  • Support integration of assessment where Children and Young People present with Mental Health / Emotional Well Being and there are also social contextual issue
  • Co-ordinate care for those children, young people and families on their caseload
  • Work to relevant professional and ethical guidelines, and within the framework of Directorate and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Have an agreed job plan with specified activity and throughput levels
  • Manage risk within team, Directorate and Trust structures
  • Work to relevant professional and ethical guidelines, and within the framework of Directorate and Trust policies and procedures
  • Use screening and outcome measures in clinically meaningful ways to demonstrate treatment effectiveness and seek feedback about user experience.


Person Specification Training and Qualifications Essential
  • First level nursing qualification/registration RMN or RGN with related CAMHS experience
  • Training in Clinical supervision
  • Further post qualifying training and education in working with children and adolescents with mental health problems.
  • Mentorship and or equivalent experience and training (A/I)
Desirable
  • Training as part of a CYP IAPT collaborative in a recognised evidenced based approach
Experience Essential
  • Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people in a variety of community settings
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Experience of inter-agency working
  • Experience of safeguarding
Desirable
  • Experience of leading case reviews
  • Experience of working in the NHS
