We are looking for Registered Nurses Mental Health and Allied Health Professionals working in Mental Health, to support our Clinical teams to deliver sustainable benefits to our patients and service users. These positions will work predominantly with our Urgent Care and Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams using a Coaching approach to design, deliver and evaluate development interventions to our registered colleagues.

We are keen to talk to applicants with experience of team leading aswell as learning and development of colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Act as a role model to encourage quality leadership and evidence-based practise.

To act autonomously in improving the quality of the learning environment by providing coaching, training, supervision, and professional development opportunities for all registered health professionals in the clinical setting.

To enable the clinical team to deliver sustainable improvements in all patient outcomes and embed coaching conversations for improvement as part of the clinical area culture.

The post holder will be a change agent, driving a patient centred, solution focused, and dynamic working culture.

The successful applicant will also have experience of supporting the learning and development of their colleagues, both formally and informally aswell as having an interest or knowledge of Coaching as a development tool.

We would consider expressions of interest infull time or part time working (min 22.5hrs p/w)

These Band 7 positions are currently offered on a 12-month fixed term basis and are available as a secondment.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • RN/RNMH or AHP
  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • P.G. qualification in mentorship or equivalent
  • Adult education qualification or equivalent experience
  • Coaching qualification or willing to work towards
Desirable
  • NMP qualification
  • Venepuncture trained
  • P.G.C.E. (professional) or equivalent
  • L5 Coaching qualification or above
  • ECG trained
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • Understanding of a facilitative approach to learning and how to create a sustainable learning environment
  • Professional role model, understanding of the NMC / relevant professional bodies' regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience of Coaching in practise
  • Evidence of delivery of continued professional development
  • Experienced, competent user of MS Office
Desirable
  • Experience of training and teaching clinical professionals
  • Experienced Coach
  • Experience of on-line learning programmes e.g. WebEx
Experience Essential
  • Extensive recent experience in speciality, including significant recent experience, managing or supervising a clinical team
  • Autonomous worker, able to set and achieve goals
  • Experience of supporting clinical change.
Desirable
  • Experience gained over multiple disciplines
  • Experience of coaching in clinical setting
  • Experience of leading significant end to end change processes
