Operational services within the Trafford division provides a number of district and specialist services within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. These services are based in Hospital and the Community. The post holder will work within a Care Group and alongside the Head of Operations will deliver high quality, clinically directed services.
The service manager works collaboratively across operational and corporate services in order to deliver high quality outcomes.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for managing a wide range of community services.
- Work with the Clinical Lead and Care Group Leads to deliver high quality care, ensuring quality governance standards are maintained and that national and local targets are achieved.
- Responsible for ensuring that robust performance, financial and staff management arrangements are in
- Responsible for the day to day management of the service, delivering high quality outcomes for all people who use
- Ensure that services are provided safely and with cultural sensitivity, in privacy and with dignity for individual service users and
- Ensure performance management systems are in place to record and report service performance data within designated Trust and commissioning time
- Advise on significant Risk, Patient Safety and Health and Safety issues that may affect the service, including incidents; maintain and monitor risk
- Maintain service responsibility for Safeguarding
- Lead engagement events for the service, to include staff, service users and
- Highlight areas for service development and contribute to the development of business cases and service improvement
- Lead for organisational change and service redesign programmes where required and support the development of the service and the teams within
- Manage the services within the available financial resources; ensuring financial governance and best value for money principles are

- Work as a key contributor and member of a team of managers and clinicians working in partnership to consider the strategic direction of
- Work alongside Trust colleagues from other operational and corporate services to identify business opportunities and maximise the GMMH service offer, promoting positive relationships with commissioners and external
- Represent GMMH professionally, ensuring that the work of the Trust and Service is widely known and understood by service users, commissioners and partner agencies.
- Assist with the development of service, Business Plans, Performance Planning Framework, The Assurance Framework and implementation of CQC Standards.
- Support the inclusion of service users and their families in the strategic development of the service, seeking their views on service provision and service development

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- A relevant health or social care qualification at degree level or equivalent
- satisfactory record of continuous professional development
- evidence of further formal management study and/or qualification
- Significant track record of employment at a senior operational level, delivering services in a mental health provider
- considerable experience in operational leadership roles
- evidence of managing financial resources at a senior level
- Evidence of leading service change with colleagues
- Experience in both health and social care
- Experience as a practicing professional in a mental health environment
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance and effective systems
- An understanding of the role and its contribution to the overall Trust agenda
- Up to date knowledge of current national health agenda
- Highly motivated individual with strong personal integrity
