Lancashire & South Cumbria Foundation Trust are pleased to be expanding the Key working Offer which plays an integral role for children and young people with ASD and learning difficulties who are in crisis. In addition there is the further development in our offer of a CYP Autism Only Intensive Support Team. We are currently recruiting for a further Band 7's to support the leadership and development of this service.

The CYP Key working and Autism Intensive Support Service will provide a multi-agency approach to support children, young people and families/carers by delivering a co-ordinated, person-centred and outcome-focused approach to planning and supporting autistic children, young people and families/carers who require additional and sometimes complex support.

We are hoping to welcome applicants with backgrounds that include Children's Complex Care /Occupational Therapy in order to create a well-rounded team with a plethora of expertise.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well autonomously and well as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

As part of the leadership team,
  • The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, expert support and advice within the Key Worker Team and CYP Autism only IST.
  • Support the enhanced model of key working support to the wider multi-disciplinary community within Lancashire and South Cumbria.
  • To promote and support good access to mainstream education, health and social care packages of support for those with learning disability, autism or both.

The post holder will;
  • Proactively support individuals and their families in a key worker role with learning disabilities and complex needs who are at risk of admission to a specialist learning disability or mental health hospital and/or are experiencing family or placement breakdown.
  • Work in partnership with service users, social care, education, GP's, advocacy, family carer groups and acute care colleagues to support vulnerable service users.
  • Promote and nurture a culture of practice excellence that delivers high quality care, leading key working and CYP Autism IST practice.
  • Promote national learning disability agendas including Transforming Care, Positive Behaviour Support, Mental Health recovery models, STOMP and Greenlight working in Mental Health.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day clinical and management leadership of staff within the team to ensure delivery of a high quality specialist health service, meeting the complex and diverse needs of the identified population.
