GROUND BREAKING! SO EXCITING! WOW!

These are reactions to the fact that Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is setting up a regional Virtual Intensive Service for adults with severe eating disorders in the East of England.

And YOU can be part of it!

We are looking for a team which will provide virtual meal support and groups to people across the East of England region (Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire) to enable them to avoid specialist eating disorder hospital admission.

We want to expand the model trialed in Hertfordshire to the whole region, support the community teams from the six Trusts in the East of England Provider Collaborative, AND ensure it's researched robustly so that we can be sure it enables home based recovery, is useful for the service user and is cost effective.

If you would like to be a part of this exciting venture, are happy to work virtually (with team meetings in person in Hertfordshire once a month) and are either experienced at working with adults with an eating disorder or have strong transferable skills and a strong commitment to those with an eating disorder, then please apply! The posts are likely initially to be a one year contract but this will be extended if the project is successful or the post holders may have the option to continue in another role within HPFT.

If this new venture works, you will be breaking new ground in eating disorders treatment for adults!

Main duties of the job

Leading the team will be an excellent part time Team Manager with a qualification in one of the core professions within mental health services and a strong desire to work within adult eating disorders services. Ideally you will have experience working in this specialty but if not you will have excellent transferable skills. You will be a confident leader who is able to support and inspire the team members as well as contribute to the vision of service development, high quality provision and research. You will support the team members in their work, ensure the service runs smoothly, liaise closely with the Provider Collaborative Adult Community Eating Disorders Services, liaise closely with the regional Single Point of Access to screen referrals for their appropriateness and help the team with meal support and group provision if necessary.

You will be managed and supervised by the Professional Lead of the Hertfordshire Community Eating Disorders Service and will link with the relevant clinicians in the community teams. You will be expected to ensure the research process is facilitated by the team, whilst ensuring the service users needs are paramount.
