Bow Ward is our Specialist female ward situated in our Medium Secure services. Our mission is to provide safe, individualized and specialist care and treatment for detained in-patients.We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and innovative nurse leader to take up the post of Clinical Nurse Manager Band 7 within the forensic directorate for a 18 months fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on continuous development and improvement of nursing in providing high quality care to patients. It also calls for visible and inclusive leadership as part of a multi-disciplinary team and other teams across the service.

In this role you will be required to support the ongoing relational security, trauma informed care and reducing restrictive practices initiatives.

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate and provide care and treatment to an identified group of patients without direct supervision. In addition, supporting junior staff in delivery of care provision.

To manage and organise work as required.

Take responsibility for the development and delivery of evidence based practice for service users with complex needs, ensuring that it supports and reflects service user individual needs, Trust objectives and professional guidance.

Promotes evidence based practice and embeds QI.

Postholder will be responsible for high quality care provision with highly complex service users and groups.

Contribute towards ensuring that the ward functions as an integral part of the Directorate's services.

Effective communication with all relevant personnel both internal and external to the Trust.

To practice within professional guidelines and promote professional practice in clinical area.

To ensure continuous personal development through the utilisation of regular supervision, annual appraisal and training where appropriate.

To devise a robust system of management and clinical supervision and performance management to promote and develop excellence in practice.

Conduct and act on results of audits, surveys and other data that supports quality care

  • Significant experience of management and leadership roles at band 6 level or above
  • Working with people with mental health problems/ learning disabilities
