Are you interested in working as a band 6 Physiotherapist in a friendly, dynamic and innovative organisation in the City of Hull and East Riding?We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapists to join well-established multidisciplinary falls service. The service operates on a 7 day working pattern and there would be an expectation to contribute towards a 7 day working pattern including some public holidays. The team visits patients in their own homes in the geographical area of Hull and ER, we provide hollistic assessment and intervention for patients who have fallen.

Throughout your role you will work with well-established supportive multidisciplinary teams and receive regular support and supervision. The therapies and rehabilitation team is proactive in supporting professional development and the successful candidate will have access to a range of learning and training opportunities as well as attending a well-established Physiotherapy Development group.

The successful candidate will have should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff from all disciplines, whilst maintaining high professional standards. Please that having a driving license is essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing services to patients over the age of 18 and over who are registered with an Hull/East Riding GP and are identified as in need of falls assessment and intervention.


  • To support with the efficient delivery of the physiotherapy services provided to their area of work on a day-to-day basis. To be involved in implementation of any change to work organisation/service delivery.


  • To support with the service delivery over a 7 day working pattern including some weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.


  • To assess and manage patients within the area of your work who may have complex and / or chronic presentation. To determine clinical diagnosis/need and physiotherapy intervention required. To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with legislation and service policy.


  • To be responsible for the designated area of work, as agreed with the physiotherapy lead and or/ Clinical lead, and to plan and organise efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time.


  • To prioritise and manage a large and complex clinical case load and delegate responsibilities to junior physiotherapists and assistants within the team as appropriate.


  • To be accountable in own area of clinical responsibility, ensuring the delivery of evidence based clinical interventions and practice for a specialist case load linking in with key partners to provide holistic care.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Current full HCPC Registration
Desirable
  • Member of special interest group
  • Post-graduate diploma in relevant area
Knowledge Essential
  • Able to justify clinical decisions to other Medical Staff, colleagues and other professionals
  • Contributes to the development of policy.
  • Competent in skills appropriate to the post e.g. Manual Therapy/Neuro
  • Accountable for own professional action
  • Evidence of CPD activity, including nationally recognised post graduate training in relevant speciality to Diploma level or equivalent
  • Evidence of reflective practice, IST and CPD portfolio
  • Autonomous practitioner works within codes of practice, policies and guidelines.
Desirable
  • Evidence with involvement with clinical governance agenda
Experience Essential
  • Broad based clinical experience covering main speciality areas including community work in relevant specialism.
  • Able to work in a MD/Multi-Agency setting
  • Able to work alone/unsupervised.
  • Good Time management.
  • Ability to supervise more junior staff and support staff.
  • Ability to manage own caseload.
Desirable
  • Participation in audit/evaluation/research.
  • Clinical experience within specialist field
