We are a growing team and welcome applications from both experienced and newly/soon to be qualified psychologists who have an interest in forensic work and wish to embrace the complexities of such work.
We would offer regular supervision and development opportunities and would support applicants through the preceptorship process.
The role is for a full-time position, however we would consider applications from those wishing to work part-time (minimum 3 days / week or job share).
The team supports people across Derbyshire and offers a hybrid-working model, which allows flexibility to work remotely to access team meetings and work across various Derbyshire Healthcare offices.
Interviews will be held on 3rd of April.
Main duties of the job
The forensic community mental health team is an established multi-disciplinary team that strives to provide safe, effective and compassionate care, support and interventions for the people who use our service.
We aim to provide a number of psychological interventions that support people to reintegrate successfully into the community and develop their quality of life while promoting opportunities to develop valued social roles and activities.
We increasingly embrace trauma-informed ways of working and actively promote an awareness of the impact of a broad range of adverse life experiences.
Responsible for providing assessment, formulation and evidence-based psychological interventions within the Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust Forensic service.
This includes working with individuals and groups in forensic community services.
As a key member of the service you will combine direct clinical work with supervision, training, consultation, service evaluation and development.
Working as a member of the multi disciplinary team to provide a clinical service to high risk and difficult to engage clients who have complex mental health needs.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical / Forensic / Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS and giving eligibility for chartered status with the BPS
- Registered with HCPC (or soon to be registered)
- Chartered status with the BPS
- Experience of working with clients with a range of mental health difficulties in a broad range of settings
- Experience of working with people who have a history of causing harm to others
- Experience of assessment, formulation and intervention in relation to risk
- Experience of working in a trauma informed framework
