We are developing'Living Well' CMHTs as part of the NHS long-term plan: a huge mental health movement with lived experience and collaboration at its core. I would like to invite you to come and join the Dales team in this exciting new role.

Our posts are available at Band 7 or 8a depending on experience with progression by appraisal.

We are flexible in creating mutually agreeable job plans e.g. opportunities for working into specialisms such as Physical Health or Sexual Health Psychology services.

Main duties of the job

We want Derbyshire to be a community that cares for and supports each other so that people flourish, feel connected and empowered to pursue their aspirations.

You will provide individual and group clinical work jointly with your CMHT/ Emotional Regulation Pathway colleagues.

You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary CMHT and combine direct individual and group clinical work with promoting psychological ideas by offering advice and consultation, supervision and training to colleagues in the wider organisation.

You will contribute to service evaluation and development.

We support and develop our staff to work with complexity, for example, by access to training resources to support your work with complex trauma and dissociation.

We offer specialist clinical supervision 1:1 or in facilitated groups e.g. CFT, complex dissociation.

You will join us at an exciting time for Psychology and Psychological Therapies Division where we are making great progress in trauma-informed care throughout the Trust.

You will be joining a Psychology and Psychological Therapies Division with a range of wide range of expertise and a strong identity at a time of growth. There are opportunities to learn from others and develop your own role in developing a flexible workforce.

Person Specification Training & Qualifications Essential
  • Good Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above). Eligibility for Graduate membership of B.P.S.
  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the B.P.S./HCPC
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist by the HCPC
  • Eligible for Chartered status of B.P.S.
  • Post qualification training in supervision of other psychologists
  • Post qualification specialist training/experience of assessment/intervention for people with complex mental health problems (1-2 points relevant to experience/evidence of this)
Desirable
  • Post qualification training in a therapy model (score 2 points if completed, 1 point if in process of training)
  • Chartered status with BPS
Other Essential
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working with clients across a variety of settings (1-2 points depending on experience/evidence)
  • Commitment to developing specialist area of expertise relevant to the post through significant training, personal study etc (1-2 points depending on experience/evidence)
Desirable
  • Expertise and interest in specialist area relevant to adult mental health (1-2 points depending on experience)
  • Training and interest in DBT framework (1-2 points depending on experience)
Knowledge & Skills Essential
  • Very high level of interpersonal and communication skills enabling written and oral presentation and receipt of complex and sensitive information, to facilitate acceptance, and relate effectively in an emotive and hostile environment (1-2 points depending on experience/evidence)
Desirable
  • Ability to process text, set up and use databases and spreadsheets
Personal Essential
  • Enthusiasm for psychology in relation to MH Problems. Interest in developing/consolidating skills in working with complex trauma and associated diagnoses (1-2 points dependent on experience/evidence)
