A new team is being created in Derby City to take forward an Integrated Primary Care Wellbeing Pathway which effectively supports the delivery of the community mental health framework.
We are looking for an experienced OT to join our Derby City, Living Well service.
The roles present a unique and exciting opportunity to truly make a difference to the mental health support offer in Derby City.
The post holders will undertake comprehensive, person-centred, psychosocial assessments (conversations), risk assessments and formulation of presenting mental health difficulties, in order to build therapeutic relationships, develop a plan of care with that person 'my story' and assist them through their difficult time by empowering them and enabling them to take control over their health.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will provide specialist OT clinical advice on the assessment and intervention of clients' occupational and functional needs, using OT evidence-based, client-centred Recovery principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and contribute to the wider MDT.

A collaborative approach to coproduction and working with VCSE organisations is essential.
Were looking for Occupational Therapists who take a strengths-based approach and who are motivated by the potential to make a real difference to the lives of people and their communities.
A strong understanding of individuals with multifaceted needs and serious mental illness is required for this role.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- Registered Occupational Therapist
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Fieldwork educator
- Membership of OT professional body
- Good communication skills
- Ability to apply core OT skills in a mental health setting
- Well developed motivational and negotiating skills
- Recent and relevant post-registration experience as an OT
- Recent and relevant post-registration experience in an adult mental health setting
- Knowledge and application of OT models of practice
- Knowledge of the Community Mental Health Framework
