Within HPFT is our Psychiatric Intensive at Oak and Beech unit, Kingfisher Court. Oak ward is specialist ward that provides inpatients mental health care, assessment and comprehensive treatment to individuals who are experiencing the most acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our friendly team and provide a key Leadership role. The post holder will be required to provide comprehensive, professional, effective leadership, clinical advice and expertise, acting as a positive role model, contributing to the professional development of junior staff and consistently demonstrating the trust values. You will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of an identified clinical area.

We are seeking applications from Nurses who have positive attitudes, values and beliefs about working with people who are experiencing mental health problems, who want to make a real difference to the service and have a passion for reducing restrictive practice.You will have at least 1 years of post-registration experience in an inpatient environment.In return we can offer regular supervision, relevant training and further career development, reflective practice and opportunities to develop your Leadership skills.

  • RMN or Dip/ Bsc (Hons) in Mental Health/ ENB 998 / Preceptorship and Mentorship. ENB

  • At least 3 years post registration experience at Band 5

  • Experience of working in other clinical settings
