An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a dynamic trauma-focused Social Care CAMHS team based in Wandsworth Town Hall. The post-holder will be required to travel to locations across the borough and more widely to offer a comprehensive psychological service to looked after children, children on CIN and CP plans, families and foster carers, as well as provide consultation, support and training to the wider network.

The successful candidate would work as part of the existing Tier 2 CAMHS team based within Social Care.

Job description Job responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the provision of specialist psychological assessments and specialist interventions to children involved with social care or who are looked after and foster carers, as well as offer consultation and support to professionals.
  • Run groups for foster carers
  • Be involved in service evaluation, audit and service development.
  • Have opportunities to supervise trainees and other staff members as appropriate
  • Have experience in working with looked after children and young people with complex mental health needs and their families
  • Have a keen interest in multiagency working and in partnership between Health and Education.
  • You will have professional registration as a clinical or counselling psychologist recognised in the UK.


Person Specification TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS Essential
  • Qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC as an applied psychologist,
  • Where an applicant is in the final stages of training and has not yet obtained registration, an applicant will only be made an offer conditional upon successful registration within a time-scale that is specified.
Desirable
  • Training as part of a CYP IAPT collaborative in a recognised evidenced based approach
  • Training in DDP/EMDR/CBT-TF or another trauma focused intervention
EXPERIENCE Essential
  • Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people in a variety of community settings
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Experience of inter-agency working
  • Experience of safeguarding and Child Protection
Desirable
  • Experience of leading case reviews
  • Experience of working in the NHS
  • Experience of teaching and liaising with other professional groups
