For the ones in need, Help the Helpers and Give to the Givers! Can you spare a few hours a week to remotely support health and social care staff within the NHS and the voluntary care sector, within West Yorkshire? The Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and its NHS staff and those supporting them need your help!
  • Are you a Psychological Therapist or Clinical Psychologist, accredited in Counselling, CBT or EMDR?
  • Are you interested in helping NHS staff who have been adversely impacted by their work during the Covid19 pandemic?
  • Are you passionate about providing high quality psychological care to those who devote their lives to working in health and care sectors?
  • Are you a highly skilled Psychological Therapist or Clinical Psychologist who is keen to use their skills to help those who have worked at the front line during the pandemic and those supporting them to do so?

Main duties of the job

We are delighted to invite accredited Psychological Therapists and/or Clinical Psychologists to join our Staff Bank. You will be working hours around your existing commitments, providing psychological assessment and episodes of psychological therapy to health, social care and voluntary sector staff experiencing psychological stress and distress as a result of their efforts in managing the COVID19 pandemic and its impact across society. Our staff are our greatest and most valued resource, and we must do all we can to support them through such difficult times. If you're eager and motivated to work even just a few extra hours to support our colleagues in need, we would welcome your application.

Of particular value to the presenting issues we anticipate staff may be experiencing (anxiety states, post trauma reactions, low mood, grief and loss), are practitioners with training and accreditation in CBT, EMDR, and counselling.

The positions are offered at band 7 (JD in attached job pack) on an hourly rate via Staff Bank, though we would welcome interest from a range of psychological practitioners interested in supporting our combined workforces. You will need access to a suitable environment to work remotely from that can offer assurance of a confidential conversation and ideally access to equipment to facilitate remote working, such as a computer or telephone. Expenses will be available to cover associated costs.

About us

Your staff bank registration will be held with BDCFT, but your work could be with any staff working across West Yorkshire. Service governance will be provided by the clinical lead for the therapeutic arm of the mental health and wellbeing hub.

PLEASE NOTE - ID Checks need to be done either at our HR office at New Mill (Saltaire, West Yorkshire), your local NHS HR office or the original documents will need to be posted to us to verify.
