1.0 WTE Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist in NORTH BEDFORDSHIRE CAMHS Emotional Behavioural Team (EB2)
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist/ Counselling Psychologist or CBT to join our innovative multi-disciplinary Emotional & Behavioural Team (EBT2) in North Bedfordshire CAMHS. The main base would be at the CAMHS office, Rush Court, Bedford, MK40 3JT. We are willing to consider candidates who want to work part-time and there is currently flexibility regarding working from home.
Main duties of the job
Our team is committed to developing newly qualified psychologists and CBT therapists. We offer half a day a week of protected continued professional development for the first year post qualification. This content of this CPD time will be constructed with the successful candidate, but depending on their interests and needs it can be a mixture of training, reading, specialist supervision and gaining experience in other areas, including the Systemic Family Therapy clinic, Narrative work, Arts Therapies, EMDR, Looked After Children's team and Schools team.

EB2 offers a wide range of therapeutic interventions to young people aged 5-18 and their families. We have close links to schools and community services. The role involves completing assessments and completing individual and group interventions.

Person Specification Education, Training and Qualifications Essential
- A qualification and professional registration in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology or CBT profession
- Registration with HCPC
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment, and treatment of clients presenting with a range of mental health difficulties
- Experience of working in CAMHS
- Experience of care planning
- Experience of working with parents/carers
- Experience in using routine outcome measures to improve quality
- Experience of working with young people presenting with co-morbid conditions, e.g. ASD/ Learning Disabilities/ Eating Disorders/ Substance misuse
- Experience of training and teaching others
- Specialist clinical skills within specific therapeutic modalities, including CBT
- High level skills in formulation and treatment planning
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and / or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
- Able to plan, organise and prioritise own workload.
- Competent use of IT packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems and verbal hostility
- Skills in facilitating group work to clients, parents/carers and/or professionals
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
- High level knowledge of evidence based practice and NICE guidelines
- Knowledge of standard setting and audit implementation
- An awareness of different research methods
- A knowledge of Child Protection Guidelines
- Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS
- Aware of the potential impact of discrimination & disadvantage on mental health.
