This is a very exciting opportunity for an Independent Non- Medical Prescriber to join our busy and dynamic Neurodevelopmental Pathway for 22.5 hours per week working with Buckinghamshire CAMHS.
We are looking for an RMN/RNMH or RNLD. (RSCN with post registration psychosocial training or relevant experience in CAMHS) who already holds the Independent Non-Medical Prescriber Qualification.
As part of our CAMHS team you would see a Clinical Caseload of young people with ADHD and would be required to commence and monitor medication for them. You will also be expected to take part in assessments of young people who present with mental health difficulties who may or may not require medication. You will be a key part of our very supportive MDT and will have access to regular supervision from the Psychiatry team as well as peer support from other NMP's within the Buckinghamshire area.
The Buckinghamshire Neurodevelopmental team is developing a nurse led ADHD clinic and you would be joining a team other NMPs.
Main duties of the job
You would be offering initial assessments and review appointment s for children and young people with a diagnosis of ADHD who are exploring medication to manage their symptoms.
You would be expected to take a holistic approach to assessment and management taking into account relevant physical health, and co-morbid mental health needs and other neuro diversities.
You will titrate and stabilise medication doses and move Children and young people onto shared care agreements for ongoing prescriptions and request reviews inline with NICE guidance
You will maintain up to date risk assessments on children and young people and make timely onward referrals and signposting to services as needed.

The post holder will provide expert specialist nursing practice to children and young people under 18 years and will participate in the regular review of clinical policies and guidelines within this field and implement required changes to practice. The post holder will ensure the delivery of effective evidence based clinical practice and will undertake a CPA or lead professional role for a complex caseload of young people.
