We are seeking a Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist to join our dynamic Luton and Bedfordshire mental health team. In this role you will provide clinical pharmacy and medicines management services to all mental health services. We are an expanding trust which means there is lots of opportunity for experience and growth. You will be able to participate in mental health rotations including Adult inpatients, CAMHS, Perinatal Services, Crisis and Home Treatment teams, Community Mental Health as well as linking with our pharmacy teams in Community Health Services and Primary Care.

You will also need the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals. You will want to develop and improve the reliability and quality of our clinical pharmacy service. You will be passionate about wanting to support patients and their families through their recovery process and about managing and optimising medicines collaboratively.

Person Specification Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential
- oVocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- o+ Pre-registration training
- o+ Post registration training relevant to hospital pharmacy
- oMember of the General Pharmaceutical Council and/or Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- oPsychiatry qualification (or willing to work towards this)
- oExperience in clinical pharmacy of working with older people
- oExperience in clinical pharmacy in a mental health setting
- oWorking towards higher Degree/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
- oDemonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate medicine related information to mental health patients, carers and clinical staff
- oPrevious evaluated experience of mentorship and training skills
- oTo have undertaken clinical audit
- oTraining and education
- oPrevious experience in providing clinical mental health services.
- oStaff management experience
- oMonitoring and advising on drug expenditure
- oClinical and critical appraisal skills
- oThe ability to identify and prioritise clinical work load
