We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to become our Lead Pharmacist for Digital and Mental Health across Bradford District Care NHS FT.

We are fully live with electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) across all our wards following a successful implementation in 2022.

The post holder will support and further develop the ePMA system at BDCFT There are a number of ongoing digital projects affecting medicines as well as advanced informatics developments that you will be involved with.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, optimisation and ongoing management of all clinical digital systems involving medicines.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will support and further develop the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system at BDCFT.
  • They will also play a key role in the implementation and ongoing management of all current and future clinical digital systems involving medicines.
  • The post holder will act as a role model and expert practitioner for staff, particularly in areas of service improvement, change management and project management, with a focus on developing and deploying digital medicines management solutions and managing complex clinical and service transformation.
  • The job will include working with Digital Services, wider pharmacy team and clinical staff across the organisation to ensure that clinical digital solutions are developed and maintained to reflect the current and future needs of the organisation.
  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to a specified clinical specialty(s), demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.
  • Take part in the provision of general clinical, dispensary and pharmacy on call services.
  • A requirement to travel between BDCFT sites on a regular basis.
  • Maintain registration, as a pharmacist, with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and to act in accordance with the code of ethics.
  • Undertake any other duties required, within the nature and grade of post, as designated by the Pharmacy Leadership Group.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • PG Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • Registration with GPhC
Desirable
  • Leadership or management qualification
  • IT or project management qualification
  • NMP Qualification
  • PG Diploma/Certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics
Training and Knowledge Essential
  • Understanding change management challenges and how change can impact on staff and performance
  • Knowledge of the benefits of computer programs in NHS healthcare delivery
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the principles of project management
  • Knowledge of ePMA systems
Experience Essential
  • Significant experience of working in hospital pharmacy in a clinical role
  • Experience of delivering on the job training/coaching using computer systems.
  • Experience of team building and practice development
Desirable
  • Previous experience of working in mental health services.
  • Experience of working to deliver discrete pieces of work to deadlines
